November 3, 2025
Message from your PTA Board

Hello Sanger families!

We want to thank and commend the students and families who took swift action to notify Mr. Merritt of their safety concerns last week.  In this week's newsletter, we will expand on some of the resources available to parents and students, should you become aware of something that should be reported.

Regarding this past week, if you have follow-up questions or concerns, please reach out to the school front office (972) 749-7600 or email Mr. Merritt.

💚 Sanger Safety First ⚠️
How to Report: Say Something Program

Dallas ISD is one of many districts that participate in the Say Something program from Sandy Hook Promise.  This program has been proven to increase students’ awareness of warning signs and their willingness to report mental distress and potential threats.

This is an anonymous reporting system (ARS) providing life-saving violence prevention and crisis intervention - designed for students, but available to parents/guardians.

What Should You Report?

  • Acts of violence, with or without weapons
  • Threats seen on social media
  • Bullying, fighting, harassment, or intimidating behaviors
  • Bragging about weapons or a planned attack
  • Depression, anxiety, or loss of self-control
  • Hopelessness, excessive guilt, or worthlessness
  • Reckless behavior, theft, and petty crimes
  • Social isolation or withdrawal
  • Substance or alcohol abuse
  • Suicide threats or other self-harm

Report, Then What?

  • 24/7/365 access to a caring Trusted Adult. Their accredited National Crisis Center is staffed with highly trained Crisis Counselors.
  • Multiple reporting options – Mobile app, text, phone hotline, and website.
    App:Google Play or Apple Store
    Phone (24/7 Crisis Hotline): 1-844-5-SayNow
    Website: Secure Report Here
  • Crisis Counselors assess the situation and act accordingly.  This could range from contacting school counselors regarding a wellness check on a student to contacting local police and school administrators for a more urgent threat.
Communication: Remind

The Remind App is a key communication tool used by campus staff to communicate with families - this includes teachers and administrators.

Multiple ways to join

  • Download the App: remind.com/join/alexsanger
  • Text 81010 with the Remind Code for each class
    • @alexsanger to receive messages from administrators
