Dallas ISD Mobile App - Communication

The District sent an email over the weekend regarding their new/updated mobile app and mentioned direct communication with teachers. To clarify, the app is available and includes district information, but the communication feature is still in development.

Sanger staff and administrators will continue to utilize Remind as the primary communication tool throughout this semester. Additional information about utilizing the DISD app will be released as it becomes available.

🩷 Kindness Week | 2/8-2/14

Practice kind actions throughout the week with these daily ideas. (Attachments). On Monday, school uniform + hat; the rest of the week, jeans and non-uniform bottoms are okay.

Themed dress-up days
• Monday- Hats off to kindness
• Tuesday- Wear pink & red because we love our school
• Wednesday - Wear a shirt that represents your interest and form a bond with each other
• Thursday- Celebrate World Kindness and different cultures. Represent with an Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) represents your culture.
• Friday - wear your favorite color

🍎 Brighter Bites | 2/10

Brighter Bites provides fresh fruits and vegetables to Sanger families who enroll, at no cost! Visit the Brighter Bites page on our PTA website to review more details about how to enroll.

Volunteers make this opportunity a reality! Come help sort the groceries and prep bags for our families.

🪴School Planting Days | 2/12 & 2/13

Our first Planting Days are coming up on 2/12 and 2/13, and students can’t wait to get their hands in the soil. Elementary students will head out to the garden by grade level, while middle school students will participate by class. Together, they’ll be planting seeds directly into the ground and helping kick off this year’s growing season.

We need volunteers!Extra hands are needed to help support students during planting, keep things running smoothly, and share in the fun. If you’re available to help, we’d love to have you join us in the garden!

🍏 Honored Schools

The Honored Schools program isn't limited to classroom teachers - you can honor Specials teachers too!! Students and families can visit HonoredSchools.org to share a story about a teacher who has impacted their life.

Each Honor Story is shared directly with the teacher and featured on Honored’s national Honor Roll. At the end of the year, 2–6 teachers in our region will receive the Honored Schools Life-Changing Teacher Award, which includes a $2,500 prize.

Looking Ahead

💃🏻 Flamenkitos Begins | 2/23

The Flame Foundation will offer FREE Flamenco classes again this semester for Kindergarten - 3rd grade, every Monday, beginning on 2/23. Final performance will be at the Latino Cultural Center, participating in the Cocina Flamenca on April 18.
Flyers were sent home last week, and incorrectly listed weekly classes on Thursdays. Space is limited - turn in forms to the front office, or email Ms. Cerillo cacerrillo@dallasisd.org
