December 8, 2025
🎁 Sanger Angel Tree | Now - 12/17

Ms. Cerillo and our wonderful admin team coordinate an Angel Tree program, providing the opportunity to bless a Sanger student this holiday season.  Your kindness makes a tremendous difference!

We kindly ask that gifts be wrapped if possible, or you are welcome to bring them to campus, and we will gladly wrap them for you.

All gifts must be returned by December 17.

Contact Ms. Cerillo with any questions or to adopt an angel: cacerrillo@dallasisd.org

🎨 Winter Fine Arts Night | 12/9 4:30-6:30pm

This evening is put on by Ms. Strader and the specials team, and it's all about celebrating the arts at Sanger.  It will include student performances from 1st, 3rd, 4th, & 5th grades, music, and art on display!  There will also be festive stations for food and sweet treats... maybe even a visit from Santa. 🎅

Similar to Sanger Fest, tickets will be sold in advance and used for food and activities.  Tickets can be purchased at the front office, cash only, $1 = 1 ticket.

Visit the PTA calendar event for additional details and performance schedule!

Volunteer at Winter Fine Arts!

Are you available to manage the cookie-creation station or hot chocolate bar?  Most help is needed in the second half, from 5:30-6:30.

🏃‍♀️ Kids Race - Free to all DISD | 12/13

The Oncor Kid’s Race is one of the nation’s largest kid’s running and walking events offered free of charge. • 100 Yard Dash (5 years & under)
  • 1 & 2 Mile Run (6 years & older)

The Oncor Kid’s Race is in its 22nd year and will include a fun-filled morning consisting of pre-race entertainment and a post-event celebration for all participants.  REGISTER TODAY!

Registered participants: Review email from Coach Hammond for details about the race.

📗 Sanger Yearbook

Sanger is partnering with a new yearbook vendor: Treering!

The Treering platform is available via web browser or using their mobile app - whichever you prefer!

A few of the highlights:

  • Treering only prints books when parents order them!
  • Families can upload custom pages for their student, which will only print in their copy of the yearbook.
  • Families can choose between a hardcover or softcover book.

In a partnership with the PTA, Ms. Moser and our Yearbook Staff of Middle School students will select a theme, determine page layouts, and help document events throughout the year.

Visit the Yearbook landing page to learn more about how to sign up for Treering and how to contribute & upload photos.

**Do not purchase yet - we are working on page count and want to get a better sense of that before selling books.

Supplies - Disinfecting Wipes Needed

Classrooms are in need of disinfecting wipes before the holiday break (approximately 100 total). If you can contribute, please deliver to the front office for distribution, as they will track which classes are still in need.

All brands are welcome, but if you want to double your impact, Lysol is a Box Tops brand 😉  Don't forget to scan your receipts!

🎨 Annual Fundraiser - Arts Champions

Art Committee Grade-Level Champion - In Preparation for March Annual Fundraiser

One of the highlights of the auction is the opportunity to buy beautiful artwork made by our amazing Sanger students!  Last year's artwork is shown below!

We are looking for parent, grandparent, or neighborhood friend volunteers to “champion” the project for each grade.  We'd like to meet in early December, so looking for volunteers now.  The time commitment will be about 5 hours, from deciding on the project idea, sourcing materials (or donations), helping Ms. Ogle during the art period, and helping assemble or frame the final artwork.

If you would like to help contribute financially towards art supplies and framing, we are also accepting donations to enhance the variety of artwork we can create

United to Learn - Book Bash

A United to Learn Book Bash is a literacy initiative that provides each student with a new book and builds excitement around reading. Volunteers play a key role, transforming spaces into captivating themes like jungles or winter wonderlands and helping students find a book.

Sanger's Book Bash is still being finalized, but here's a great article about the one at Geneva Heights Elementary in the Lakewood Advocate!

Sign up to Volunteer at Bayles Elementary Book Bash this Wednesday, 12/10, to see what it's all about!

Ongoing Volunteer Needs

If you have any questions, please reach out to Katy Spartz (SangerVolunteering@gmail.com) or Ms. Cerrillo (cacerrillo@dallasisd.org).

All volunteers must register with the district (submit a background check) application through Voly each school year: dallasisd.voly.org.
