Each grade (PK-8) will create a collaborative art piece to be featured and sold at our Annual Fundraiser on March 7. The goal is for every student to contribute to their grade’s artwork, with help from parents and guidance from our art teacher, Ms. Ogle, and lead parent Danielle Kimzey.
Roles:
-
Ms. Ogle (Art Teacher): She’ll guide students during art class using the materials and instructions provided by parent volunteers.
-
Danielle Kimzey: She’ll help with creative direction, ideas, and art-making. She can also assemble or finish pieces in her studio if needed.
-
Parent Volunteers: Ideally, one parent from each grade will “champion” the project for their grade — deciding on the project idea, sourcing materials (or donations), coordinating with Ms. Ogle on class timing, and helping assemble or frame the final artwork.
Time commitment:
About 5–6 hours total (including prep, helping at school for a few hours, and assembly).
Next steps:
We’d love to have a short virtual brainstorming meeting soon to plan ideas by grade and coordinate materials. This meeting will be coordinated with those who sign up to find a date that works for the majority, either morning, midday, or evening.
Once Ms. Ogle’s art rotation schedule is confirmed, we’ll share the times parents could come in if they’re available during the day.
